Subject: Foal

Artist: Tricia

This is another drawing of my 8 year old. I love how she draws with graceful yet certain lines. Whenever I draw, my lines are mostly thin and uncertain, it’s like trying to figure out how the subject must be shaped. And when I see that everything is somehow proportioned and ‘right’, it’s only then I draw thicker lines. But my daughter is different. When she draws, her lines are mostly ‘certain’ and surprisingly, it’s also right. That’s why even if people say, she got her ‘artistic abilities’ from me, but I would say that she’s naturally talented in the arts ( praise God for that). I love the arts and have learned my way around it but for me it was something that I learned and practiced and it never came naturally. I’m thankful that my daughter has this gift and I would greatly encourage her to develop this talent so she could improve further. I would certainly look forward for her doing oil paintings of Frenchmen on elegant horses with tailored sportsman breeches.
