In our effort to catch up with our homeschool schedule, I’ve been giving my daughter a lot of pre reading assignments, then we have discussions and then quizzes to check on how much information she has retained on head. I’m not so sure if this is the best way to teach but I feel that we have to do this at this time because we are just way behind our schedule.

I’m just thankful though that my daughter is quite a fast reader and she does remember what she reads about. So, I guess this is what prompted me to do it this way. But I’m sure it’ll be more beneficial for her in the long run if we read her history and sciences together. But as I’ve said, this is just temporary.

Anyways, today I gave her a very long science test. It’s a test that’s equivalent to a few weeks lesson. I really think I’ve overdone it and I pitied her at the end because she looked so drained and so tired. But thankfully she only complained at the end while we were checking the last page of her test. She said she feels so tired and she wants to rest. And so, I told her to just take a break and I won’t continue with History as I planned.

I thought she would happily just go out and play or lie down on the couch to rest.. but instead, she was outside the porch and reading one of her homeschool books. Yes, that’s her REST. ;)
