This week I finally started homeschooling my kids. It’s actually our first week.

For my daughter we had a smooth Week 1. My daughter has more writing and spelling activities now which she is learning to like. During her Kindergarten, my girl doesn’t like writing that much.I mean there was a time that she liked writing but I think when it got too overwhelming, she got tired and lazy.

This year, I also switched her Maths curriculum from the Horizons to Singapore Math. Horizons was actually a great curriculum but at the end it was a bit ‘boring’ for her. Then, I thought of Singapore Maths since it was also cheaper. And it turned out that this is easier. My daughter was telling me that her Maths were so easy! Oppss.. But she’s still enjoying it because it’s a mixture of different activities and not as repetitive as Horizons.

As for my son, his curriculum is more on read alouds and we usually do them at night before bedtime. Planning to start to teach him how to read by using the book, Teach Your Kids to Read in 100 Easy Lessons but I really have to fix our schedules first. I really find it a challenge to seriously homeschool both of them.
